By 2002, Mr. DeJidas had grown GAI's southeastern operations into a subsidiary employing 125 professionals in both Orlando and Jacksonville. In 2003, GAI consolidated its operating companies into GAI Consultants, Inc., and elected Mr. DeJidas President and CEO.
Today, he guides the growth and development of a 800-person, multidisciplinary firm with twenty-six offices in eleven states — that is consistently recognized by Engineering News-Record as one of America's top 500 engineering and environmental firms.
Mr. DeJidas’s own technical experience spans engineering design, planning, and construction-related services for highway and transit system projects, urban utility networks, regional shopping centers, and industrial parks. Throughout his career, he has been an active member of numerous professional societies, and a contributing volunteer in a variety of community associations.
Affiliated with The Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA) for more than 22 years, Kevin has been involved in several committees, participated as a board member (from 1996 to 2001), was elected GBA President in 2000, and named to the GBA Council of Fellows in 2005. He chaired this committee from 2008 to 2011, and is currently an active member of the Council.
Kevin has participated as both a team member and captain of GBA Peer Reviews for more than 12 years; and is currently serving as Chair of GBA’s Peer Review committee. He has also chaired committees for ACEC, ASCE and SMPS.
Kevin received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1981 and 1983, respectively; and his Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University in 1995. He is a licensed professional engineer, registered in Michigan.
A licensed civil engineer with design experience in civil, geotechnical, and structural engineering, Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Vermont, and a Master of Science degree in arctic engineering from the University of Alaska.
Licensed as a professional engineer in Michigan, Ohio and Virginia, Mr. Kramer joined SME in 1995. He is responsible for corporate development, profitability, staff retention and development, client satisfaction, and risk management. Since 2001, he has led SME's over 200 professional and technical staff. The firm has continually been ranked among the top 500 design firms within the United States by the Engineering News Record (ENR).
Mr. Kramer is sought by owners and developers for his ability to translate project information, especially engineering and risks, into language they can understand when developing or redeveloping sites. This allows clients to make informed decisions that save time and money while controlling risk. He provides executive project oversight for major, multi-disciplined redevelopment projects including environmental and geotechnical evaluations, design and construction monitoring. Mr. Kramer has valuable experience leading projects for SME's regional offices in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. He also has experience in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and Hawaii by teaming with local consultants on large development projects.
Involved in the engineering field and the community, Mr. Kramer serves as current President-Elect for ACEC Michigan, and he also sits on their Board of Directors. He is a past Board member for the national Geoprofessional Business Association, as well as Past Business Practice Committee Chair. Mr. Kramer currently serves on the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) Motor City Chapter Board of Directors, and he serves on their membership committee.
